In July 2007, at First Fridays Street Fair (Art Murmur) in Oakland, we took a poll asking respondents whether they agreed or disagreed with statements from historical art manifestos such as Dada, Surrealism, Furturism, and Stuckists. We asked them to rate their responses from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree.” Based on their responses, we created the Oakland Community Consensus Manifesto.
The CCM zine includes charts and graphs showing the responses, as well as our detailed analysis of the results, our methodology, and the final product of the questionnaire: a 10-point art manifesto of the Oakland First Friday Street Fair (at least for that month).
