Photos I made while visiting Los Angeles Area Laughter Clubs.
Eden Batki was born in Syracuse, New York in 1975. She graduated with a BFA in Photography from the University of Washington School of Art in Seattle. Eden’s body of work explores the hidden beauty of austere landscapes and the people who inhabit them. Travel is the main mode of inspiration for Eden. Her subjects include Hungarian Children’s Railway workers, people who exist on the other side of tourism, artists, musicians, and local teenagers in her neighborhood of Echo Park, Los Angeles. She has been commissioned by various magazines such as Architectural Record, Tokion, Anthem, Mass Appeal, Flaunt, Bust, City, Readymade, Surface, Venus, Out, Budget Travel, and Epitaph Records. She also shows her work in various galleries around the country.
