For Shadowshop at SFMOMA, Carolyn has designed a series of T-shirts and Totes. The T-shirts are inspired by famous soccer players of the past and present, such as Pelé from Brazil and Pibe from Colombia.
Carolyn Castaño is a Los Angeles based artist and former San Francisco artist and resident. Carolyn is the recipient of the 2011 C.O.L.A Award, City of Los Angeles Individual Artist Fellowship. Her work has been featured in exhibitions both nationally and internationally, most recently in LACMA’s critically acclaimed Phantom Sightings: Art After the Chicano Movement, which traveled to the Museo del Barrio in New York City, Museo Zapopan in Guadalajara, and the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City. Other exhibitions include International Paper at the Hammer, Liquid LA at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, Bay Area Now and Three Great Walls at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Carolyn has an M.F.A from the UCLA School of Art & Architecture and a B.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute.
