chris bell: cheap money

“Cheap Money”
$0.99 each
in edition of 500

Cheap Money is a fun response to many commercial issues- the inherent ‘non-profit’ reality of most artists; the commercial trick of coaxing a sale by taking a penny off a price; the distorted worth of resources through globalization; the hubris of late capitalism; etc
I make site-specific installations and sculpture.
My work usually re-presents common systems and means of understanding through rearrangements of elements.

this is also interesting in relation to the “loss leader” concept – those $29 microwave ovens that Walmart puts at the ends of its aisles.
