jamil hellu: postcards

$ 1.50 each
Gloss laminate postcards

Jamil Hellu is a photographer whose work concentrates on the possibilities of photography as a form of visual representation that explores autobiographic narratives and invites us to project fictions. His photographs investigate themes of intimacy, emotional connections, the aesthetics of the everyday, and notions of identity in relation to socially established interpretations of sexuality, as the dichotomy between what is real and what is staged becomes blurred in front of the camera. Born in Brazil in 1976, Hellu received his BFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2003 and received his MFA in art practice at Stanford University in 2010. He lives in San Francisco.
