The series Baldessaring Baldessari is part of a larger body of work that critically explores the relationship and recognition of influence. I find that by making portraits of the influencer, often in their own style, I can come to terms with the influence, take what I want from it, and move on.

Robert Larkin is a visual artist whose practice spans a broad range of media and techniques while critically exploring subjective relationships such as perception and value, content and context, and the interweaving of past, present, and future.

Larkin has an MFA from the California College of the Arts, and as an Osher Merit Scholar, a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has been the recipient of a San Francisco Arts Commission Project Organizational Grant, a Zellerbach Family Grant, as well as an Osher Travel Scholarship to the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy. Robert Larkin has exhibited work in solo shows in the US and Italy, and group shows in the US, Italy, Berlin, and British Columbia.

Born in suburban New Jersey, Larkin has also lived in Antwerp, Belgium and San Casciano dei Bagni, (SI) Italy. He now lives and works in San Francisco. WWW.ROBERTLARKIN.COM
